"Tool for medium sized businesses with stellar user interface and easy-to-learn functionality."

> What the vendor says:

"Absorb LMS is designed for humans. The intuitive design pays attention to how people work. As a result, they move through their online training easily, focusing on the course material instead of trying to figure out the software.

Your resources are spent wisely on training people, anywhere, anytime, at any pace, in a short time frame."

> What Software Shortlist says about Absorb LMS:

Absorb LMS provides an easy to learn and use tool for learning management that boasts of a well-designed user interface.

Key strengths of Absorb LMS include:

  • Easy to learn
  • Easy to use

Hands down, what we liked best about this tool was the beautifully built and easy-to-learn interface for all audiences: administrators, teachers/instructors, and students. Other likes include the parameters-based rules engine which allows administrators to create rules for enrollments, courses, etc. without the need for coding.

Finally, a really cool feature Absorb LMS offers that competitors lack is lots of built-in email templates for standardized user communication. For example, you can create a standard message to send via email for new user registration, course enrollment, wait listing status changes, completed courses, course session reminders, and approval/denial messages. Not only is the content the same (standardized), but also the rules engine can populate the email message with specific fields (e.g., , is populated with Sarah Smith). Plus, you can override or customize standard email message if necessary. For example, you can add a line stating "Bring a pencil to class" to be sent inside the standard email "Welcome to the Course" message.

However, the budget required for Absorb LMS may be an issue for some customers. Contrary to the vendor's claims of an amazingly low price, Absorb's typical cost of more than $1000 per month is quite a bit more than many other LMS systems. But you'll have to trade that off against the powerful features and customisable interface

The exact pricing depends on how you want to use the system; A la carte pricing charges per active user, hosted (SAAS) for 20,000 users or less is $42/day, and hosted (SAAS) for unlimited users is $50/day. They also have a non-hosted/installed version, but you will have to contact them directly for pricing for this option
