VerticalResponse does a great job of delivering a marketing system that packs it in all the right places. From snazzy reports to a built in ROI Calculator VerticalResponse has got a lot of things right.
What We Liked
Presents an easy to use interface that you can navigate around without getting lost. It also has a simple and elegant approach to conversion and revenue tracking. Minimal programming is required to track your emails on through to conversion or link it to revenue. The automatic ROI calculator in the reports section is a nice touch. If you are able to assign a value to non-commercial conversions, you can get a ROI number for those email campaigns as well. The event calendar is useful in getting an at-a-glance view of all your email campaigns planned for the week or month. It will make it easier for you to visualize your campaign frequency and make adjustments.
Gaps to Watch
Spam complaint rate reporting is not available. This is a critical indicator of the health of your list. While VerticalResponse assures us that they will contact you before you ever hit the complaint threshold, knowing the complaint rate will help you to take proactive corrective action. The segmentation controls were comprehensive but we found we couldn’t segment a list by revenue.

Full featured email marketing system with useful extras. Tracks conversion and revenue. But surprisingly it has no auto-responder support. Overall, we give VerticalResponse 4 stars.
